She Who Walks: Skeeby Loop

Level 2 – 4.5 miles – (250ft of ascent) – Gilling West to Skeeby and return
We will meet In Gilling West and follow the public rights of way across farmland to Skeeby. At Skeeby we will take a break at The Travellers Rest before returning to Gilling West via a different route.
A short lowland hike aimed at those with little or no previous experience of walking in the countryside. This would also be a great starting point for those with low fitness levels or a lack of confidence in their fitness. This route is across pasture fields for a distance of roughly 4.5 miles. Some parts may be muddy. There is some gentle ascent of approx. 250ft on the route but we will take our time!
Please note this is a FEMALE ONLY event.
Estimated time: 2-3 hours
Highlights include:
- Lead by a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader
- Small group of 12 max
- Pub visit during the walk
Start: 12:45pm meet for a 1pm start
You must be 18+ to enter this event.
You will need:
- Walking boots/shoes and thick socks
- Full length trousers as some sections of the path could be overgrown. Jeans are not recommended.
- Waterproof jacket.
- Sun hat/glasses
- Spare top layer in your pack
- Snacks and drinks in an easy to find section of your bag. We recommend bringing at least 500ml of drinks with you
- Fully charged mobile phone
- Any personal medication needed
- A comfortable back pack to carry your own kit. You may wish to consider putting things inside a plastic bag or other waterproof bag inside your back pack
- Money if you wish to purchase a drink/snack in the pub
