A Saturday afternoon Spunch Event in collaboration with DEEside Orienteering Club, based in the beautiful Northwich Woodlands.  60/90/120min score course options in a countryside & woodland setting, navigating with an enhanced hybrid map.  Registration, Loos, Start, Finish, and refreshments all the Marbury Country Park Visitor Centre, Northwich CW9 6AT.  About 5k / 10mins drive north of Northwich.

Just 10mins from M56 J10 (Stretton), 15mins from M6 J19 (Knutsford).

Discover the amazing Northwich Woodlands!  A fantastically diverse area including, country parkland, woodland, river & canalside paths, lakes, flora & fauna - and all at its very best at this time of year.  Gently undulating, the diverse network of paths, tracks and public access land makes for a highly enjoyable afternoon's Springtime Spunching whatever your pace.

Plentiful soft drink & a cookie (included in the entry fee) will be available at the event centre after your outing.  A great opportunity to refuel, compare routes and chat with friends & rivals old and new in this lovely setting.

For something more substantial, there is the commercial Park n Perk coffee & cake van on site, or two good pubs within 5 mins drive (The Spinner & Bergamot at Comberbach and The Stanley Arms at Anderton).  OR....if the weather is nice, then bring a picnic and enjoy it on the huge lawned areas immediately adjacent to the event centre and just a couple of minutes from the car park.

Run, jog or walk - suitable for road runners, trail runners, park runners, adventure racers, orienteers, walkers, and newcomers alike.  Great for families and friends to do together.  Suitable for all ages and all abilities - lots of help available for newcomers.  Four legged friends are welcome too, but must be kept under control and on a lead at all times.

Start anytime between 1pm and 2pm.  Registration open from 12:30pm.

Over 50 Spunchpoints to choose from, spread out throughout this very green area.  You will find lots of varied route choice using the many paths & tracks, plus the opportunity to venture off piste in some areas to find some more technically tricky control points.  The area of about 8 sq km is gently undulating meaning fast running for those with speed in mind, or a fairly gentle outing for those prefer to take in the sights, birdlife & bluebells.  2k to 22k, the choice is yours!

Visit as many checkpoints as you can in the time available, S-punching using the MapRun app on your smartphone, Garmin or Apple Watch.

Will you wander through the flowery woodlands or marvel at Marbury's majestic avenue of Lime Trees?  Hopefully both!

Hope you will come along and give it a go!
