Our 3rd event of the SLOW Mountain Bike Orienteer's 2024 Series.
This event will be based in the beautiful village of Ditchling, at the bottom of South Downs. It will make use of the extensive network of bridleways on the South Downs and in the Weald, and with spring in full flush, it should make for beautiful riding. Because the area around the village is quite flat, it is an ideal event for beginners, but there will be plenty of challenges for the experts.
You’ll be given a marked up OS A3 waterproof map and have 2 or 3 hours to visit as many checkpoints as possible. Plan and navigate your own route. The course is designed for all abilities and you can enter as a solo, pair or family team.
To participate you will need the MapRun App on your Android or iPhone, or a Garmin Watch with the MapRunG App, or any GPS watch. A link to download the course to your phone will be sent shortly before the event. The PIN code will be given at the start. It's important not to enter the PIN code until you are ready to go as your time will start as soon as you do so. If you're new to orienteering and don't have a map board you'll be given a basic one to attach to your bike.
