She Who Walks: Gilling West Guided Walk

A short lowland hike aimed at those with little or no previous experience of walking in the countryside. This would also be a great starting point for those with low fitness levels or a lack of confidence in their fitness. This route is across pasture fields, through some woods and along farm tracks. Some parts may be muddy. There is some gentle ascent on the route but we will take our time! Please note this is a FEMALE ONLY event.
There is an optional cafe visit to Mocha on the Aske estate after the walk.
Highlights include:
- Lead by a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader
- Small group of 12 max
- Optional cafe visit after the walk
Start: 10am
You must be 18+ to enter this event.
You will need:
- Walking boots and thick socks
- Warm clothing. Jeans should be avoided. A warm base layer and a fleece mid layer is recommended
- Waterproof jacket. Waterproof trousers are recommended but not essential
- Gloves and hat
- Spare top layer in your pack
- Snacks and drinks in an easy to find section of your bag. We recommend bringing at least 500ml of drinks with you
- Fully charged mobile phone
- Any personal medication needed
- A comfortable back pack to carry your own kit. You may wish to consider putting things inside a plastic bag or other waterproof bag inside your back pack
- Money if you wish to visit the café after the walk
