Walk type: Medium circular walk, led by one of our qualified Mountain Leaders. No navigation skills required.

Walk start time: 9am prompt - please arrive 30 minutes before if possible, as parking can get very busy.

Meeting point: : Cutthroat Bridge layby - full location will be emailed across before the event.

Distance: 13 miles

Walk time: 5.5-6.5hours

Total ascent: 2100ft

Highest point: 538 m/1,765 ft

Walk highlights: Derwent Dam, Upper Derwent Reservoir, Lost Lad, Back Tor, views from Derwent Edge, Wheel Stones and Ladybower Reservoir

Trigs: 1 – Back Tor
Ethels: 2 – Lost Lad + Back 

This Upper Derwent Valley walk is a lovely 12 mile route taking in some of the best views the Peak District National Park has to offer!

Starting from Cutthroat Bridge we will start heading up towards Derwent edge were you will be able to admire the unusual rock formations, before we hit our highest point Lost Lad.

From here we will meander our way through the lower meadows to the shores of the Upper Derwent reservoirs, were we can take in the history of the infamous Dambusters, before heading back to the starting point.
