The Yomp Mountain challenge is a two-day event celebrating all things running and outdoors.

This volunteer run event is entering it’s thirty ninth year and with the help of some great sponsors is offering more events than ever before. The Yomp raises money for good causes and to date well over £100,000 has been donated to a variety of good causes.

All the races start and finish at the event Basecamp at the Engine Shed, Kirkby Stephen. Here there will be food, drink, retail and entertainment throughout the weekend.

There will be enthusiastic warmups for all the events and entertaining commentary on the finish throughout. There are medals for all finishers in the 5k, 10k and Night race. Bespoke medals will be presented to the top 10 in the Mountain Marathon, Ultra and 20k. A range of trophies in several different categories will be awarded in all the races. Spot prizes will also make an appearance.

All Saturday finishers will be treated to hot food after their event and food and drink will be available to buy for supporters.

The Ultra and Marathon will be GPS tracked with online maps available for supporters to follow the athlete’s progress. Entries for these races will close two weeks before the event with no on the day entries.
