Junior Trial for the European Off-Road Mountain Running Championships

COURSE DETAILS:
6.3 km and 410m
The route starts from Latrigg car park and follows the Cumbrian Way before summiting Latrigg. From here, a short descent and then a steep climb up Lonscale Fell. The route then follows the fence line to the col before Skiddaw Little Man. The descent from here joins the tourist path down Skiddaw and takes the direct route back to Latrigg car park.
The course will be marked and marshalled.

PROGRAMME:
There will be one race:
- 12 noon. Junior male and junior female athletes start together

NB Senior Inter Counties Race starts at 1pm from Fitz Park
ENTRY DETAILS:
Pre-entry only. Entry costs £10 per athlete.
REGISTRATION:
Registration will open from 10.30am.
The junior trial is open to athletes who are born in 2005, 2006, 2007 or 2008. (Entries are welcome from good endurance runners from other disciplines without previous mountain/hill running form).

HILL SAFETY (VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ)
All competitors must carry waterproof top (taped seams) and bottoms, hat and gloves. In bad weather a thermal top must also be carried or worn.
Failure to comply with any minimum kit rule will result in disqualification.
Any athlete who retires from the race must report their retirement to a race marshal.
FACILITIES:
Registration and toilets are all available at the Cricket Pavilion TBC. There is limited parking at Latrigg car park and the road up is narrow. Please share where possible and be considerate to other users.
