Welcome to the first (and possibly only) edition of the 10 mile team double-loop fun-run raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity.
In 2024 I'll be running Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 13th. Monies are being raised for The Brain Tumour Charity once again, with approx. £3000 being raised at Pint & Pork Scratchings 5.
Similar to Pint & Pork Scratchings, we start and finishing at The Cross Keys pub in Epperstone. But instead of single runners running a single loop of 5 miles, you will book the event as a team of two people, each running an approximate 5 mile undulating loop.
The course consists of two interlinked loops. Runner 'A' runs the Pint & Pork Scratchings loop in reverse, tags runner 'B' to run a slightly longer and flatter loop. Team tactics good win you prizes here! Do you go short and lumpy or long and flat?
Once across the finish line, re-hydrate at the pub whilst timings are compiled and the prizes are handed out.
Prizes will be up for grabs - again we are not having the standard age group prizes, instead opting for some randomly placed prizes. So if you finish in a position that corresponds to the list, you will receive a goodie. Prizes include:
- First team - Up & Running vouchers
- Team name - some beer
- Entries to local races (Abbey Dash / Thoresby 10k / Turkey Trot)
- Steak & ale pie - 1 meal's worth
- Most team entries
