Level D local orienteering event at Coombs wood near Armathwaite
Pre-entry available on all courses. For Yellow/Novice and Orange coursesthere will be some entry on the day, subject to map availability. For Blue, Green and Short Green/Very Short Green late entry is available, but you must contact the organisers in advance ( [email protected] )
Parking:
Armathwaite – Kirkoswald road. Parking will be along the roadside to the south of the small Forestry England car park where Enquiries/Download is situated. Maximum distance to Enquiries/Download is 400m.

Courses (provisional length and climb):
Blue 5.3km, 230m
Green 4.1km, 190m
Short Green 2.9km, 120m
Very Short Green 2.6km, 90m **See note below
Orange 3.0km, 130m
Yellow/Novice 2.3km, 70m
**Very Short Green - this is the same course as Short Green but with some controls missed out. If you want to do Very Short Green, enter Short Green and pick up a Short Green Map at the start. The map will show which controls to miss. You can decide while on the course whether to take the Very Short Green cut-off.
All courses use a 1:7,500 scale map. The map has been significantly updated for this event.
Groups and Pairs / Extra Maps:
If you are new to orienteering and would like to go round as a group or in a pair, just enter one person and use the option to select any additional maps that your group would like at £1 each.
Dibber Hire:
Available by pre-order at no charge, £30 if not returned. To pre-order, leave the SI number blank during entry process, and then collect dibber from Enquiries/Download on the day.
Start and Finish:
Starts between 11:00 and 12:30.
The start and finish are both within 100m of Enquiries/Download
The start and finish boxes need to be punched, but all other boxes will be SIAC enabled.
Entry Cancellation / Changes: If you are unable to make the event please let us know via the email address. If we are informed by the closing date we will provide a refund less £1 per person to cover admin costs. Before the closing date you can change your course by editing your entry online, but there will be no changes of course on the day.
