Introduction
Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Chalkland Way with us. A 40 mile circular waymarked route through the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds, starting and ending on the edge of Pocklington. This will be the 3rd edition of the sell out event.
This route surprises you from start to finish. The great thing is that the area is so peaceful and you can lose yourself in the beautiful surroundings. You’ll visit the picturesque villages of Givendale, Bishop Wilton, Kirby Underdale, Thixendale, Fimber and Wetwang.
The event is held in Autumn so expect showers, muddy fields, chalk climbs and some running in the dark.

Tracking and navigation
- Premium OpenTracking GPS tracking with live timing and splits.
- Route available in OS via the OpenTracking App.
- We provide you with a GPX. In addition to this, we will add markers and large yellow correx signs at key junctions.
- We will provide you with a map if you rely on one for navigation and you can opt for this when signing up.
Support
- First aid medical support.
- 4 checkpoints fully stocked with vegan friendly and gluten free nutrition.
- 3 checkpoints will be indoors with toilet facilities.
- 1 checkpoint will be a marquee.
- The option of a non-returnable food drop-bag at 2 of the indoor checkpoints.
- 1 checkpoint will provide hot drinks, including tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Facilities
- Changing room and toilet facilities at the start and finish (plus showers at the end).
- Free parking on site.
At the finish line
- Finishers medal - and you get to choose from an eco-wooden medal or wildflower seed medal.
- Waymark post trophy reclaimed from the Wolds if you podium in the male or female category.
- Technical tee as an optional extra – and you get to choose from unisex or female fit.
That extra bit of magic
- Free event photography.
- Mass walk to the start line.
- Hot drinks, cold drinks and snacks at the end.
