Black Mountains MBO - Rockfield, Monmouth
For this event you will be exploring the extensive Public Rights of Way network in the Wye & Trothy valleys near Monmouth. The event area preview map will be sent out to all those on the mailing list two weeks prior to the event & the final instruction will be sent out the Friday before. It will also feature the preview map & other details relevant to the event.
Following the event the Results will be displayed on the BMBO Website. You will also find full details about Mountain Bike Orienteering including applying for membership, riding tips, rules, age classes and other events around the UK. You will need a membership number for your result to count in the Local and National Leagues: www.bmbo.org.uk
If you are new to the sport you may qualify for MBO Newbie free entry, please email us for details.
To participate you will need the MapRun App on your Android or iPhone, or a Garmin Watch with the MapRunG App, or any GPS watch. The event ID will be sent out the day before the ride & the PIN code issued at the start. It's important not to enter the PIN code until you are ready to go as your time will start as as soon as you do so.
The App will not work as well if your phone is in your jacket front pocket, where you body is shielding it from the sky. For the best satellite coverage it is useful to have it stowed ideally on a handlebar mount, crossbar bag or in the top of your day sack.
