The annual Perseids Meteor Shower is one of the best to observe with up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak.
Produced by comet Swift-Tuttle, discovered in 1862, the Perseids are famous for producing a large number of bright meteors. Our walk is timed to coincide with the peak frequency.
At a relaxed pace we trek up to the Kinder Plateau, enjoying sunset views along the way. Savouring views from Peak District’s highest mountain we find sheltered spot and your guides will serve hot chocolate, coffee, tea and cookies. We settle down to watch the show, visible with the naked eye, most of the meteors coming from direction of the Perseus and Cassiopeia constellations. We then have a little more time for exploring before descending back to Hayfield.
