Settle has been a gateway to the Dales for 700 years and this has created a wide network of bridleways we have connected into a circular route up onto the moors and the spectacular Malham Tarn.  The route covers fast flowing gravel, cobbles and tracks.

90% of the trail is on 'off-road' tracks and whilst they are in good condition there will be mud, puddles, steep and rough sections of trail where you might have to push your bike, stream crossings and of course ruts / rocks as it's the north of England.

4 minute film up on YouTube; https://youtu.be/XtDYha96SHw

'Red’ gravel / mtb route - 29km and 600 meters climbing

'Black' gravel / mtb route - 41km and 730 meters of climbing

Maps of the routes,a basic description and elevation profiles together with the location of the starting line can be found on the Yorkshire Divide website: https://yorkshiredivide.co.uk/mills-n-moors-series

Meet us at the 'pop up' table at the start line between 9am-10am for a cup of tea / coffee and home made flapjack, pick up your embroidered cloth badge and head off.  There is no ‘mass start’.  The group social ride departs at 10.05am.

If you aren’t 100% confident about following a gpx route file or just want to ride with a bunch of other folk on a bike then join us. There is no fixed speed we cycle at. We will be stopping and waiting for each other and we can take turns opening the many gates!

The rides on the Mills n Moors Series are a personal challenge. They are not races and there is no ‘mass start’. The route is NOT signposted. Riders may start at any time as they will have received the gpx route file the week before the start date.

Any one of the following bikes would get you around the route: Gravel bike / Cyclocross bike / Mountain bike / E-bike. The terrain is not suitable for road bikes. We recommend tyres of 40mm upwards. A spirit of adventure is an advantage!

Any question about the Series or a specific ride then please contact yorkshiredivide@gmail.com
