The Kong Lakes Ultra courses start and finish in Keswick and provide 2 spectacular race routes over high mountain summits, linked by rocky ridges and sublime open fellside, encompassing stunning views and all flagged to help with navigation.

However, these courses are challenging in terms of terrain, distance and potential navigation difficulties so they are not for the inexperienced runner.

The long course has 11 summit checkpoints and visits Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England, as well as Pillar, Helvellyn and Blencathra amongst others. The route is 80km with 5300m of ascent and has 4 manned support points en route.

The short route is 59km long with 3500m of ascent so is not to be underestimated at all! It visits Great Gable, Esk Pike and Helvellyn and provides a more achievable aim for many mountain runners looking to try an ultra. The course has 3 manned support points en route.

At the end of your race, all competitors will be provided with a hearty meal back at Keswick Football Club.

Both courses are registered with the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) and gain you automatic UTMB points upon completion of the courses. The short course will gain you 3 UTMB point and the long course will gain you 4 UTMB points.
