Cavill Coaching are hosting a winter training weekend which will focus on training for the winter Spine events. It will also be beneficial to anyone who may be considering such an event in the future.
We will host the weekend and provide talks and discussions on the relevant skills, strategies and equipment required. We will also take you out on sections of the Pennine way, providing transport to and from the start of the sections to enable best use of time and flexibility for those who would like to do more or less.
Activities over the weekend are all optional so people can dip in and out of sessions as they wish.
Agenda (Subject to change):
As mentioned everything is optional and you can dip in and out of sessions as you please, if you just want to come and use the accommodation/transport then that is fine (Though it would be great to have you with us on some of the activities/discussions).
Over the weekend, we will cover from where the Pennine way crosses the A66 all the way up to Alston, which comprises some challenging sections to navigate as well as some of the most beautiful areas (High Cup Nick, High force waterfall, Cross fell), these will be broken down over the weekend into manageable sections. For those doing the full Spine it is a great chance to see the new checkpoint at Langdon Beck.
We will not provide meals, however you will have full use of the kitchen in the Youth Hostel or you can head to Middleton for evening meals. We will provide light refreshments – tea and coffee.
Price is £190 per person which includes the accommodation in the Youth Hostel.
We will also be sending out a series of emails and content to help you prepare prior to the weekend, this will to ensure you are able to get the most out of your time with us.
In addition to Jayson`s previous participation in the Winter Spine race, we have both coached many people in successful completions of all distances in the Spine race series, we will also have several of our athletes along and look forward to sharing our knowledge and advice. We are passionate about this challenge and want people to not only complete their relevant challenges, but enjoy the process and event itself. This weekend is a great opportunity to help you prepare and build up to January, taking away some of the guesswork and uncertainty when it comes to the big day/week.
