MTB Epics are passionate about off road adventures on bikes.
We bring challenging and exciting, long distance off-road cycling routes with a relaxed vibe. Our routes have been well-researched and ridden to include every type of trail imaginable, from byways and bridleways, single and doubletrack, trail centres, Sustrans bike paths, woodland, moorland, urban and much more…
What is the Bull Ring 200?
This is a 200 mile MTB/Gravel route that orbits Birmingham in a clockwise direction. It has been created with the purpose of linking some great, and often lesser-known off-road riding spots this area offers. For 2024, we are hosting a three day supported event alongside a self-supported bikepacking adventure.
Riding through Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire, the many highlights will include some of the best off-road biking trails found in the West Midlands.
You will encounter a huge array of trail gems over the 200 mile distance, taking in bridleways, byways, singletrack, moorland, woodland, urban and some purpose-built MTB trails.
Not only is the riding superb, the views from the likes of Bredon Hill, the Malverns and the two Clee Hills are fantastic too (Brown Clee is the highest point in Shropshire).
The events start in the historical Forest of Arden area in Warwickshire and head south-west towards the Malvern Hills. The route then turns north into the Shropshire Hills AONB before crossing the Severn gorge at the UNESCO World Heritage site at Ironbridge. It’s then across the top of the West Midlands metropolis to join a full traverse of Cannock Chase – one of the best riding areas in England!
The final part of the route heads south and utilizes some of the plentiful canals found in the West Midlands, as well as a full mixed bag of woodland and rural trails.
There are many surprises on this route, ranging from superb singletrack, great architecture and a fascinating history.
But beware! this is a tough route for bike and rider which includes remote moorland areas above 500m. Some sections have a high technical aspect too, with steep trails, up and down, laden with rocks and roots..
