CRPRC host their annual Christmas 5k fun run on countryside paths around the town of Pontardawe.
The course begins on the Alloy Industrial Estate but quickly moves off-road to a park, then a riverside path, past the “Riverside Centre”, turning left to join the canal towpath, then back towards the town centre. We cross Herbert St and go along the canal, through the underpass and past shops, leisure centre and school on a paved off-road path. Meet canal again at edge of Trebanos then turn left to follow river Tawe to finish at The Pontardawe Inn (Y Gwachel).
Registration: Numbers to be collected at the same pub from 09.45am- 10.45
Start Time: 11.00 am. Zumba warm up 10.45
Runners are encouraged to run in fancy dress. Finishers get a commemorative medal, a bottle of water, then into the pub for a free mulled wine and mince pie.
There will not be chip timing as this is a fun run rather than a race, but a position will be given. Runners must be over 18.
There will be spot prizes for certain placed finishers e.g. 10th, 25th, 40th etc
There will be a prize for best fancy dress.
