OBJECT
To complete your chosen total distance in any combination of loops, on foot following route descriptions. THESE YOU WILL NEED TO PRINT IN ADVANCE. There are 10, 8 , 6 & 4.5 mile loops plus a wheelchair friendly interest walk.
DETAILS
The walk follows mainly field paths, tracks, woods & streams, through undulating country side with good views from the hills traversed of the Chilterns.
EQUIPMENT
We advise you to wear suitable footwear & clothing, also to have maps Landranger 165 or Explorer 181 & waterproofs. You MUST have your own DRINKING MUG & either your printed route descriptions & compass or downloaded GPX files & a note of the emergency phone number. Route descriptions and GPX files will be available to download on the BBN website from 27th May 2024.
DOGS
Dogs are allowed on this event, BUT NO DOGS are allowed in HQ. (except assistance dogs). ALL MUST be on leads at all times & MUST have appropriate liability insurance.
PA INSURANCE Please note that non-LDWA members are not covered by the LDWA PA Insurance, but for£15.00 annually (DD) you could join the LDWA and would be covered by the LDWA insurance and make good use of all the other benefits that the LDWA have to offer.
PARKING
There will be parking on the school grounds at the back of the Hall. Please follow Marshal’s directions.
FOOD/DRINK
- Entry fee includes drinks & food at HQ between loops & at the end.
- There will be NO support on any routes.
- Refreshments provided are prepared & served under uncontrolled conditions; although, naturally, all practical efforts will be taken to maintain food safety.
- However from a legal standpoint, entrants should independently determine the suitability of the refreshments that we provide.
TRANSPORT
Wendover Rail Station is only 15 minutes walk away from the start.
AWARDS
This event is not a race & there are no prizes. However, a certificate will be awarded to everyone who completes their chosen distance. Badges will be available on request while stocks last.
TRIPLE CHALLENGE This event is part of a triple challenge with the Hannington Hike and The Chiltern Kanter
THERE WILL BE NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY & ENTRIES ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE

A £2.00 admin fee will be charged on cancellations before 13th May 2024, after this date no refunds will be given.
CANCELLATION OF EVENT If the event is cancelled (at any point in the planning and delivery period) for any reason the organisers will do their best to contact entrants using the details provided. The organisers will put a notice on the event and main LDWA websites and entrants are strongly recommended to check this before departure. Cancellation of the event will be at the discretion of the organisers and entry fees will be refunded less a proportional amount for unavoidable costs incurred.
