Event Substitutions, Deferrals & Cancellation

a) Deferrals allowed if you notify event organiser by email prior to 23:59 on 31/01/2024. The deferral can be to either Yorkshireman Off Road Marathon 2024 or Haworth Hobble 2025. After this point, no deferrals will be allowed under any circumstances with exception of female competitors who become pregnant or are in year post birth. Please do not ask after deferral date as enormous time goes into preparing event and from deferral closure date, we immediately start to incur large costs.

b) If you are unable to compete but you have found a substitute, then you may edit your own entry as free substitutions will be permitted to 23:59 on 18/02/2024. You do not need to advise the organiser.

c) There are no refunds available - you can substitute or defer as above and we already have some of the most generous terms in UK. This is a wholly volunteer run event with very low costs for what you get - if we gave refunds or later deferrals then the cost of entry would rise substantially plus it creates lots of extra admin work in weeks before race when volunteer team are so busy.

The Haworth Hobble supports Into Ultra . This is a new organisation set up to promote inclusivity in ultra running and provides help such as free race places, help with travel costs and other benefits to financially disadvantaged people who would like to compete. Please contact them directly as help may be available for your entry.

The Haworth Hobble fully supports SheRaces.com and we actively ensure that all guidelines are met to ensure our races are seen as amongst the most female friendly around. We already have a female participation rate well over 40% in the Yorkshireman Off Road half marathon. However, we always want to do more. We will always ensure equal status in results and prize giving, separate ladies toilets and availability of sanitary products at start/finish/all feed stations, generous cut off times to encourage inclusivity for all, free guided reccy runs in groups to promote safety/confidence on route, free deferral for 2 years when pregnant up to race day and ensuring all imagery/race information actively encourages participation of women.
