Race limit - 200
No entries on the day
Registration is open from 10:00 to 11:00 and will be located in the Dingwall leisure centre car park.
Can I ask that folk park in the ample free parking in Dingwall and walk the 5 mins to the leisure centre, just so we don't take up all of the leisure centre parking spaces.
The race start is just behind Tulloch Castle which is a 10 mins (max) walk up from the leisure centre. Please do not park in the Tulloch Castle car park.
12:00 sharp is the start time for the adults, 12:10 for the juniors.
In order to make the race happen we had to commit some time ago to not booking an indoor venue, so unfortunately there won't be tea and cake and prize giving this year ... next year though !
Finally you will need to carry full kit. No exceptions and no excuses.
Looking forward to seeing you all on race day !
The Senior race starts at 12:00 sharp from just behind Tulloch Castle, and Juniors will start at 12:10
from the same place.
The Alex Brett Memorial Cioch Mhor Hill Race is a 14km "out and back" with approx. 660m of ascent.
While much of the route follows a fixed line (which must be adhered to!) there is a significant descent / ascent where runners can choose their own trajectory.
The course threads a trail from the bustling metropolis of Dingwall up and over farmland before crossing the Abhainn Sgitheach (Hawthorn River) and out into the wilds. Beinn Uais (Ben Wyvis - I've found a few translations - "Awesome Mountain" is a favourite), which dominates the horizon, looms large over proceedings providing the perfect backdrop.
The Junior race route is also an "out and back" with the turning point at the trig point on Cnoc a' Bhreacaich (Speckled Hill ? Answers on a postcard please). There will be a kit check at the start, please have everything with you...
Mandatory kit
Waterproof jacket with attached hood, waterproof trousers, hat, gloves, map of the course, compass and whistle.
