Welcome to BASOC’s day of amazing events on Creag Dhubh, Newtonmore. Compass Point SOL6, Junior Home International, final 2022 Scottish Junior Cup event.
In addition to the above competitions, we will have a Cones Maze for children and a challenging maze, plus equipment, food and beverage vendors.
Map / Terrain
Creag Dhubh is a very technical area of hillside; the terrain has a mix of open moorland, marsh, birch woodland with an abundance of rock features. Courses are planned to avoid competitors climbing or descending crags. Deer and goats may be spotted in the area. There is a fair amount of bracken which should have died back to some extent by October.
Registration and Start times
Registration, Enquiries and Download will be in the Shinty Clubhouse. Look for the BASOC banner.
Please note: White and yellow course maps will ONLY be available at registration.
All competitors, including those that are pre-registered, must follow the taped route via Assembly to the Start.
JHI Starts are from 10:00-11.00.
SOL6 and SJC Starts are from 11.15-13.00
White and Yellow courses will have a punching start with no allocated start times. These maps are ONLY available at Registration.
For all other courses, start times will be allocated and you need to keep to them. There are very few empty slots to fit you in if you are late.
Course Information
A full range courses will be available: White, Yellow, Orange, Light Green, Short Green, Green, Short Blue, Blue, Short Brown, Brown and Black.
