Race HQ: Errwood Sailing Club, Sandy Lane, Buxton, SK17 6GJ

Around the Goyt Valley visiting Shining Torr, Goyt’s Moss and beyond.

Race #4 – Sunday 4 December - Eastern Moors South

Car parking and registration: Baslow Village Hall, Baslow, DE45 1SR

Across Big Moor, Birchen Edge and Ramsley Moor

All events use SI Timing and have a score format so you select your own route and go as hard or as easy as you like!

Compete solo, or run as a pair (or walk or jog)! The score event format enables route choice according to ability, terrain and weather conditions.

The secret for success is to collect as many points as possible within the time limit of three hours. Each area is different so your strategy may need to change each time. Your best three results count towards the overall league result.

Pairs can enter all categories. Age category is determined by your age on the 31/12/2022 and for pairs, the age category is based upon the age of the oldest runner.

On the day, registration opens from 7:30 am and competitors start in pre-selected five-minute time slots between 8 am and 10 am. Try to arrive at registration at least 30 minutes before your allocated start time.

For all races, competitors MUST wear or carry the FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit of; waterproof whole body cover (with taped seams and integrated attached hood), hat, gloves, map of the route (provided), compass, whistle and emergency food. In addition you must also carry a survival bag. (Bag not blanket). All competitors will have their kit checked, please ensure that you have the correct kit with you.

At the start you will be given a waterproof map, with a control description and points value sheet on the back.  You then have three hours to  select your route and visit as many controls as possible in the time allowed. You will lose points if you are late!

We understand that this may be disappointing to many responsible dog owners and their well-behaved pets. However, allowing dogs at events could result in less well controlled dogs causing problems.
