The BM route has been slightly revised from last year to 7m/11.3km with 1,362ft/415m of climb, taking in farm tracks, fields and rough moorland.
Following registration at the Village Club on Clitheroe Road (BB7 3HW) the race begins in the field behind the Lower Buck pub (350 yards from registration) and is an out and back route to the trig point, the highest point on Waddington Fell. The route is partially flagged and marshalled, and has a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the Fell Runners Association (FRA). A decision will be made about kit on the day but please be prepared to bring full FRA race kit just in case (waterproof jacket & trousers, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle, emergency food). Please no recceing of the route that crosses private land prior to the race.
Any proceeds will be given to Bowland Mountain Rescue who will provide support on the day.
The race starts at 2:00pm, presentations and food will follow in the Village Club afterwards. All are welcome but please remove any muddy shoes before entering. Parking is limited so please car share and park considerately. There is limited free public parking on Twitter Lane.
