Ben Rinnes hill race 22km / 1500m
Race details:
Registration will be at the Dufftown Football ground on Hill Street just across from the games park from 10:00am. There are entries on the day. Your race entry covers entry to the Highland Games.
Race will start at the Mortlach school park at 12:00pm.
Open to runners over 18 only.
The route is marked, however the following kit is mandatory and there will be a kit check at registration.
Kit required: map, compass, whistle, waterproof jacket with hood, waterproof trousers, hat and gloves.
Race Description: Based in malt whisky country, the Ben Rinnes Hill Race is an out and back to Ben Rinnes, the dominant hill in Dufftown, passing the rounded summits of Little and Meikle Convals on the outward and return journeys.
The most straightforward and runnable of the Scottish Long Classic hill races.
Good terrain and easy route-finding most of the way. The only rough heathery section is between Meikle Conval and the road crossing.
