Secret Santa Festive Trail Series

A Yuletide gauntlet of endurance!

 

** We are excited to announce new and fresh trails for our Secret Santa Series from previous years. 

We hope you are excited to be running new routes and views **

 

HALF - A vertical battlefield. 

TEN - A wall of pain.

14KM - A hill or two that bite back. 

 

This December, the Black Mountains become your proving ground! Whether you are tackling the Half Marathon, the 10 Mile or the 14K, each course is a masterclass in elevation, endurance, and raw mountain grit.

 

Regardless of the distance, you will experience some brutal ascents and quad-burning descents, across these beautiful mountain ridges.

 

Technical Terrain: rocky paths, boggy moorland and narrow, single track trails, with the odd forest section to boot.

 

Why run it? For the thrill of winter mountain racing, alongside the camaraderie with fellow trail warriors. You will certainly have earned those mince pies and mulled wine on your return to HQ!

 

This isn’t just a race, it’s a reckoning!

Starting from Cwmdu Hall, Powys, NP8 1RW (near Crickhowell). All distances head west towards Bwlch Mountain. Set deep within the Brecon Beacons National Park.

All routes will follow the Beacons Way until they split on Mynydd Llangorse. The Half Marathon distance follows the trail on Cockit Hill, with views of the lake and the central Beacons in the distance. You will climb back up to regain the mountain trails back towards Cefn Moel, before the last varied miles back to the finish. The Ten Mile & 14km both follow the same route up however they will turn around earlier depending on the distance. All the distances will be fully marked and will have our back runners for added safety.

8 hr cut-off time is allocated for the events - approx 9am - 5pm.

 IMPORTANT 

• MANDATORY KIT - Waterproof Jacket/trousers, Race vest, base layer, capacity to carry 1 litre of fluid, food, map or gpx file downloaded, telephone, hat & gloves, appropriate footwear (trail shoes) first aid kit, foil blanket, .No participant will be allowed to participate without full kit. Full kit check at registration, spontaneous checks will be carried out on the event.
