The legendary Berghaus Dragon’s Back Race® follows the mountainous spine of Wales from Conwy Castle south. This incredible 5-day journey is 315km long with 15,500 metres of ascent across wild, trackless, remote and mountainous terrain. It is not a trail race!
The original Dragon’s Back Race® happened in September 1992 and ever since, it has been whispered about with a mix of awe and trepidation. Its reputation had reached legendary status with fell, mountain and ultra runners the world over by September 2012 when the second race took place. With a fourth race in 2017, the Berghaus Dragon's Back Race® is respected internationally for its bulletproof organisation.

The price to enter the 2019 edition of the Berghaus Dragon’s Back Race® is £899. This can be paid upfront or as a £99 deposit followed by instalments of £300 (October 2018) and £500 (February 2019)
Boot Camp and Recce Weekends
We want everyone starting the 2019 edition of the Berghaus Dragon’s Back Race® to maximise their chance of completing the race. However, the statistics speak for themselves with an average finish rate of 46% across the last three editions of the race.
Learn the course, understand the event, get prepared with expert guidance so that you arrive in Conwy in May 2019 fully prepared and ready for one of toughest mountain races in the world. We know that a surprising number of participants come to the event underprepared, and the sole focus of these courses is to maximise your chance of completing the race.
