Callow Chase Crawl and Pootle

Recreating an event that used to take place from the old Hope School the Callow Chase and Crawl will offer you a chance to enjoy the stunning Shropshire countryside as you run / walk uphill and circle the iconic landmark of Bromlow Callow.
The Chase at 4 miles is mainly on unclassified roads although there is a section of cross country around the Callow and then over some fields (including gates) before a downhill finish. You can find the provisional course on the event website at www.callowrun.uk. The Chase will be a timed event and we hope to develop it further in future years. There will be prizes in a number of categories. There is a Strava club and segments and more information can be found on the website.
The Crawl at 3.5 miles is intended as a walk retracing the steps of many of the school children of Hope in previous years. This is almost all on road but still involves a lot of uphill (to be taken at your own pace).
There is an additional event - "The Pootle – a person with pooch” which involves an individual and their dog. This can be a walk/jog and will take place over the same course as the Crawl. This will be timed event and again there will be prizes in a number of categories. Dogs will be on leads at all times and please clean up after your dog.
There will be light refreshments available at the finish of the event and a souvenir memento. There are toilet facilities at Hope Village hall (start and finish) although there are no changing facilities.
There will be a drinks station on the course and road junctions, turns etc will be signed and marshalled.
Should it be necessary to cancel the event, the decision will be taken at least 48 hours before the date of the event. Those registered will be offered a refund or free entry in the next staging of the event.
Numbers will be limited initially to 40 in the Chase and 30 in each of the other events. Participants in all events will be asked to sign a declaration that they undertake the event at their own risk.
