After a year lost to the Covid pandemic, the Trigger Race will run for the tenth time on Sunday 9th January 2022!
Entrants will navigate their way from Marsden over Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinder to Edale visiting three trig points on route. The route is measured at 24 miles with 1650m climb. This race takes place on a linear route starting at Marsden Cricket club and finishing in a field in Edale village. Runners need to be self sufficient for the race and have their own transport arrangements to get to the start and away from the finish. There are checkpoints on the route. Each runner must visit every check point in order.
Every runner must carry full FRA standard kit plus additional items for the duration of the race. A full kit check will take place at registration. The required kit is: Full waterproof jacket and bottoms (with taped seams), hat and gloves, map (the Dark Peak map which just excludes Marsden is acceptable) compass, whistle and some emergency food plus shoes suitable for fell running, long sleeved top, head torch, emergency "survival" bag (foil or plastic)
All profits from the race will go to Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team.
