Overview

This is the eighth LM42. Under hyped and aimed solely at those with good mountain running and 'hill skills'..this is no tame trail race!  You will be going over mountain summits, on mountain trails, so good basic navigational skills will be required.

Expect a very tough mountain trail route including the summits of Helvellyn and High Street, on a variety of terrain but predominately Lakeland mountain paths. Total distance will be around 42 miles with several thousand feet of ascent . An early dawn start will set you up for a daylight completion … if you can!

Start Time
6.00am Date - Saturday 10th April  Distance - 42miles/c.2000+m

Entry

Only available to competent mountain runners - limited to 150 starters  (Entry system will accept 165 to allow 10% DNS)

Bookable floor space on Friday night - £10 per person

Campervans / campercans must pay £10 overnight fee if staying overnight.

Route
Start / Finish – Askham Community Centre The route takes in the summit of High Street and Helvellyn

Askham
Askham is a great venue being on the edge of the National Park, with a range of local accommodation options, and good rail connections via Penrith. You can also book a bit of floor space at Askham Community Centre for Friday night, if you wish, ready for the early start.
