Why not make memories to last a lifetime by taking part in one of our amazing challenges?

For 2021, there will be four events: the flagship SW80K- 50 miles in 24 hours; the Mammothon- a full-distance trail marathon with a generous 12-hour time limit, the Half-Mammothon, 13 miles with a 6-hour limit and to add to that festival feeling, Tusker’s Colour Run, for all the family to enjoy.

Entry fees include great local food & drink, first aid services, a rescue vehicle, a certificate of achievement and a SW80K Festival pin badge as a memento. All the events have a fun and friendly atmosphere and are designed to suit everyone from the hard-core ultra-runners to walkers just trying to complete within the time, to families having fun in the fresh air.

New for 2021, we are offering camping in our meadows, with food and drink available on Friday evening.

Following a year off due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Festival returns bigger and better in 2021. We feature some great new checkpoints, a greater emphasis on quality local food and event trackers for the two longer events. Trackers are a great way for your friends and family to follow your progress online and make the event fully interactive. Dot-watching can become incredibly addictive!

The festival is a fundraiser for Grow Cook Learn, the charity which operates the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, and all money raised will be used to support the charity’s mission. This year, we hope to develop a wetland area in our meadows, with an accessible bird hide so that people of all abilities can learn about their local wildlife.

Every April, runners and walkers from all over the UK and beyond descend on Shropshire to take part in a personal challenge through this fascinating and beautiful area. Our mission is to connect people to the food, history and landscape of the Shropshire Hills and so we provide a quality choice of local food for everyone as they pass through our checkpoints. You can sample Shropshire Fidget Pies, a beef stew served in a barn high in the hills, local cheeses and sausages as well as our famous Bara Brith. After all, what better way could there be to explore what the area has to offer than to walk or run through its enchanting landscape whilst tasting the wonderful food heritage of the Shropshire Hills?

All the routes are hilly so don’t expect to smash your PB, but they will take you over some of the iconic Shropshire Hills summits and iron-age hillforts, along ancient drovers’ routes and through ancient forests and delightful market towns.
