10 miles: £28 (UKA attached), £30 (not attached)
Come and join us on a magical starlit journey through the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We have put together a fantastic, demanding and rewarding route through an International Dark-Sky area!
Both distances will start on the very edge of the market town of Settle, leading you straight onto the Dales High Way trail towards Malham.
10 miles route will follow a well known "Settle loop" treating you with lots rolling hills!
while 20 miles will pick up the Pennine Way towards and over famous Malham Cove, and on the edge of Malham Tarn, around Great Close Hill and Knowe Fell. Then you will follow Pennine Bridleway around Langcliffe Scar and Jubilee Cave before heading back to Settle with a downhill sprint finish.
Both courses will have sweepers and map and gpx will be available. Some self navigation skills are needed.
We know that for many of you, it’s about PB’s; for some, it’s about being among friends and for others, about challenging yourself to complete a given distance. That is why we give you a generous cut off to allow everyone to stop for a moment and appreciate stars and a dark sky. Because STARLIGHT is more than just a race, it’s a way to experience dark wilderness under the stars!
At Tough Trails, we support the International Dark-Sky Association efforts to reduce light pollution; therefore, we will donate portion of the entry fee to that mission.
