KFO are staging an orienteering event at Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline. This is suitable for all abilities from those just starting out to people who have been orienteering on many previous occasions.
Parking is available in the main public car park off Pittencrieff Street in Dunfermline.
The following courses will be on offer with start times between 11am and 12.30pm:
White (short distance, easier orienteering, suitable for beginners). There will be a control flag at each path junction or decision point. Navigation along paths and tracks.
Yellow (short distance, easier orienteering, suitable for beginners). You will have to make one navigational decision in between controls. This course is longer than the white course. Navigation along paths and tracks.
Orange (medium distance, some prior orienteering experience advised). The controls will be placed off paths and tracks and some fine navigation skills will be required to find them.
Green (longer distance, technical orienteering). For more experienced orienteers, although the friendly parkland setting makes it an ideal opportunity to try Green for the first time.
