The race route is soon on the open fell climbing steeply at first and then traverse's under Winder on a path before bearing left up to Arant Haw cp1, a fast grassy descent going west at 1st then contours down to the stream crossing before the steep pull to Castley Knott cp2, descending below Brown Knoll and then a long contour and gradual climb to the hidden cp3 in the dip, between cp 3 and cp4 is mainly pathless, a reccy would be useful, and good nav skills, from cp4 its then on main paths up to the Calf cp5 and onwards and mainly downwards to Winder cp6, and then a last dive down to the finish.
