Saltburn Trail Marathon circular routes starting from Saltburn Learning Campus for:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10k
Hardmoors 26.2 series races are no longer taped or signed, so competitors will be provided with a downloadable race route description and downloadable maps of the course which are to be used, It is the competitor's responsibility to navigate themselves throughout the course.
PLEASE NOTE – We are now not providing plastic cups at checkpoints. Please bring your own cup

08.15-08.40 Marathon
0900-09.30 Half Marathon
09.45-1010 10k
Trail Marathon Start 0900hrs
Half Marathon Start 1000hrs
Trail 10k Start 1030hrs
Time limits
8 hours to complete the Trail Marathon.
5 hours to complete the Half Marathon.
3 hours to complete the 10k
Competitors who are not meeting time cutoffs will be retired at strategic checkpoints
Compulsory Kit
Mandatory/compulsory kit must be carried at all times throughout the race. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

COMPULSORY KIT (Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k)
- Waterproof jacket with taped seams
- Hat
- Gloves
- Survival bag (not blanket)
- Spare long sleeved base layer
- Headtorch/torch – advisory for Trail marathon
- 500ml of water/sports drink to be carried (Trail Marathon)
For all three distances it is mandatory to carry:
- Route Description (Downloadable)
And/or
- Route Map (Downloadable)
FAILURE TO CARRY YOUR OWN MANDATORY KIT FOR THE DURATION OF THE EVENT WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION
Route
There will be foot sweepers for the Marathon and Half Marathon.
If you decide to retire please return to the last checkpoint or head for the next checkpoint, here the Marshall will contact one of the race team and we will pick you up and return you back to the start. Please be patient, though, for your lift.
Half Marathon and 10k prize ceremony will be held at 1200hrs (subject to change)
Full Marathon prize ceremony will be held at 1400hrs (subject to change)
Race Finish
On completing your event please report directly to the timings table inside (will be obvious) you will then receive your race medal.
Cancellations & Refunds
If you need to cancel your race for whatever reason we offer the following options:
You may transfer your place to another runner up to 3 weeks prior to the event, provided the race is full. This is done yourself via the SI entries system. Please do not ask us to do this for you.
Refund protection is offered to participants during the online check out process, allowing you to opt-in to an enhanced set of cancellation and refund terms and conditions. If chosen, refund protection allows you to claim a 100% refund (including all extra fees and charges) if you are unable to attend the event due to certain unforeseen circumstances. You can claim a refund right up to the time of the event commencing. You will be charged an extra 8.5% on top of your normal payment.
If Hardmoors 26.2 Series Ltd cancels a race
We endeavour to ensure all our events go ahead. If bad weather is forecast, we take advice from Mountain Rescue and the Police and take measures to ensure participant safety. However, in the rare event of extreme bad weather or other “Force Majeure” such as a global virus, we take advice from the Government and if despite our safety measures we are advised to cancel we will offer, where appropriate:
- Transfer to a new date
- Transfer to the next year’s event
- Voucher towards an event
